# Show a play in an article

Back to the index: https://www.coachboard.app/mcp.md

`export_play` gives you an **embed snippet**: paste it into any web page. It works with plain HTML, Next.js, WordPress, Webflow and so on. Nothing to install.

```html
<iframe src="https://my.coachboard.app/embed?autoplay=1&loop=1#play=g1.…" title="…" loading="lazy" allow="fullscreen" style="display:block;width:100%;border:0;aspect-ratio:1.38"></iframe>
<script src="https://my.coachboard.app/embed.js" async></script>
```

- **The play is inside the link,** compressed, after `#`. That part of a link never reaches any server, so the play is neither sent nor stored. A play is about 1–2 KB of link.
- **`embed.js` sizes the player to the board.** One copy per page is enough, however many plays. Without it the player still works, at a fixed shape.
- **Change the play** with the MCP (`load_play`, then `export_play`), never by editing the link.

## In a Next.js / React page

Paste the snippet as JSX:

- `style` becomes an object
- the `<script>` goes once per page, with `next/script`

```tsx
import Script from "next/script";
<iframe src={playLink} title="Wing overload" loading="lazy" allow="fullscreen"
  style={{ display: "block", width: "100%", border: 0, aspectRatio: "1.38" }} />
<Script src="https://my.coachboard.app/embed.js" strategy="lazyOnload" />
```

## Options (in the link's query)

| Option | Default in the snippet | |
|---|---|---|
| `autoplay=1` | on | Start playing (skipped for readers who turned off motion). |
| `loop=1` | on | Play the frames on repeat; `loop=0` plays once. |
| `controls=0` | (shown) | Hide the play bar. |
| `theme=light` / `dark` | follows the reader | Force a theme. |

## What readers see

- **The Coach Board board and play bar** (when the play has frames): play/pause, a draggable playhead, loop, restart, reverse.
- **Several boards:** one at a time, with arrows to switch.
- **On phones** (player narrower than 460 px):
  - a full field turns vertical if it then fits the screen; longer fields stay landscape
  - a portrait half field turns to landscape
  - plain boards stay as made
- **Analytics:** article views aren't counted as Coach Board app visits.
