# Put your plays on your club website

> Open the play in Coach Board, press Share and open the Website tab. Turn on Show it on websites, press Copy code, and paste the code into a Custom HTML or Embed block on your site. Visitors watch the play move, and it updates every time you save.

It works on any website that lets you add HTML, including WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow, Ghost and Google Sites. Every plan includes it, and so does the free trial.

## Steps

1. **Press Share, then Website.** Open the play and press Share at the top right. On the left of the window, open the Website tab.
2. **Turn on Show it on websites.** It stays off until you turn it on, so no play ends up on a website by accident.
3. **Choose the boards.** Keep Whole play, or pick Only some boards, tick the ones visitors should see and press Embed these boards.
4. **Copy the code and paste it.** Press Copy code. On your website, add a Custom HTML or Embed block and paste the code into it.

**Just one board:** Press the round Export button on the board’s left edge, then Put it on a website. Turn it on and copy the code. Only that board shows, not the rest of the play.

## What you paste

The code is three lines. Paste all three together, in one block, where the play should appear.

```html
<iframe src="https://my.coachboard.app/embed?play=…&autoplay=1&loop=1" title="Pressing trigger: back pass" loading="lazy" allow="fullscreen" style="display:block;width:100%;border:0;aspect-ratio:1.38;color-scheme:normal"></iframe>
<p style="margin:6px 0 0;font-size:13px;opacity:.75">Animated play: Pressing trigger: back pass, made with <a href="https://www.coachboard.app/sports/football?utm_source=embed_code&amp;utm_medium=embed&amp;utm_campaign=coach_embed&amp;utm_content=code_credit">Coach Board</a></p>
<script src="https://my.coachboard.app/embed.js" async></script>
```

1. The player: your play, with play, pause and the board arrows.
2. One line of text under it with the play’s name. Search engines read this line, since they skip what’s inside a player.
3. A small script that sizes the player to your board. Without it the player still works, at a fixed shape.

## All boards, or just some

With Whole play, visitors see every board, and boards you add later appear on the website too. They switch between boards with the arrows under the player.

With Only some boards, visitors see just the boards you tick. Untick one and press Save changes, and it leaves the website. A board you add later stays off until you tick it.

Switching between Whole play and Only some boards gives you a new code, and the old one stops showing the play. Copy the new code and replace the old one on your website.

## It updates when you save

The website shows the play itself, not a copy. Move a player, change a run or add a board, and the page shows the new version as soon as Coach Board saves. You never paste the code again.

If your subscription ends, websites keep showing the last version you saved. The page never shows a blank or blurred box.

## What visitors can do

Visitors watch the play move, pause it, and replay it. On a phone the board turns to fit the screen. Nobody needs an account to watch.

A coach who likes the play can press Get this play to copy it into their own Coach Board, ready to change for their team. New coaches start a 7-day free trial first, with no card.

## Where it works

Any website that lets you add your own HTML. Some site builders only allow it on paid plans, so check yours if you can’t find the block.

Emails, WhatsApp and social posts can’t show a player. Send the play’s share link there instead: it shows the play’s name and a picture of the board.

## Turn it off any time

Turn Show it on websites off and every website showing the play says “This play is no longer available” instead. Deleting the play does the same. Turn it back on and the code you pasted works again.

Showing a play on websites is separate from its share link: you can have one without the other. If the whole-play link asks for a passcode, put only some boards on the website instead.

## Where to paste it

| Website | Where the code goes |
|---|---|
| WordPress | Add a Custom HTML block |
| Squarespace | Add a Code block |
| Webflow | Add a Code Embed element |
| Ghost | Add an HTML card |
| Google Sites | Insert, then Embed, then Embed code |
| Any other site | Wherever it accepts HTML or an embed code |

## FAQ

### Does it cost extra to put a play on my website?

No. Putting plays on a website is part of every Coach Board plan, and you can try it during the 7-day free trial with no card. Visitors never pay or sign up to watch. They only need an account if they press Get this play to keep a copy.

### What happens to the embedded play if I stop paying?

The website keeps showing the last version you saved, with the play still moving. It never turns into a blurred or broken box. You just can’t change the play until you pick a plan again, and then your next save shows up on the website as before.

### Can I hide a board from the website?

Yes. In the Website tab, choose Only some boards, untick the board you want to hide and press Save changes. Visitors only see the boards you ticked, and a board you add later stays hidden until you tick it. To show a single board, use that board’s Export button instead.

### Can I take a play off my website?

Yes. Turn off Show it on websites in the play’s Website tab. Every page showing it then says the play is no longer available, so nobody sees an empty box. Turn it on again later and the code you already pasted works again.

### Will an embedded play slow down my website?

No. The player only loads when a visitor scrolls near it, so the rest of your page loads as usual. The sizing script is under 3 KB and loads in the background. One copy of it on a page is enough, however many plays you show.
